Tinder swindler sentenced to prison

A man who swindled Tinder dates out of thousands of dollars by lying about needing money for cancer treatment for family members was sentenced to two to six years in prison Wednesday.

Brandon Kiehm, 37, scammed three women — including one while he was out on bail — as well as a neighbor and his boss out of nearly $50,000 in total.

Kiehm met one woman on Tinder in August 2015, and repeatedly hit her up for cash, saying it was for his sister’s cancer treatment. He even talked her into writing him a $14,000 check he said he would pay back eventually, giving her a bad check for $5,000.

Kiehm cheated another woman he met on the popular dating site out of $12,000, telling her he needed the funds for his mother, who had breast cancer, Manhattan Supreme Court was told.

The 37-year-old fraudster also stole $13,000 from a man who employed him as a dog walker.

When Kiehm was out on bail, he was caught back at his old tricks after meeting a woman on Tinder and convincing her to give him $23,000. Kiehm pleaded guilty to grand larceny, identity theft and scheme to defraud.
